As a Fakenham photographer my services include head shots, portraits, family photo shoots, model portfolios and Norfolk landscapes sold as wall art.
About Fakenham
Fakenham is a traditional market town in picturesque Norfolk about 10 miles from the coast. Lots of beautiful countryside including the River Wensum surround the town. A wide choice of sandy beaches such as Holkham and beautiful Wells Next The Sea with it’s magnificent beach huts are are only a 15 minute car drive away. Also a ten to fifteen minute drive away and great for shopping, is the historic town of Holt.
The town has some well known attractions such as the racecourse, Langham Glass and Pensthorpe where you will find endangered and exotic water birds. The town surprisingly has many fish and chip shops. There is currently much building work taking place in the town. These are good signs that Fakenham is vibrant and that it will prosper for many years.

The West Railway Station Platform
The West Railway Station was on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway. It closed in 1959 and seven yards of the platform show above has been preserved. The Mid Norfolk Railway has plans to build a new railway station near the gasworks that will link Fakenham to the market town of Dereham, historic Wymondham with it’s two tower abbey and the beautiful City of Norwich.
West Platform Sign
On my visit to the town I was aware that this platform existed. It took ages to find and it is a rather a strange but interesting relic to preserve.

The entrance to Pensthorpe Natural Park
Pensthorpe Natural Park is an award wining attraction just outside of the town. Here you will find one of Europe’s finest collections of water birds. The site has been used by the BBC for its Spring Watch programme.
